History:
On the 13th of December 1803 a explosion was heard in Savitaipale and a fast moving black clouds were seen. Many pieces fell on an ice-covered lake near Luotolahti village and land around the small lake. The fall was witnessed by two farmers who later recovered some fragments. The largest fragment weighed 843grams. Luotolax is howardite linked with the planetoid Vesta in the asteroid belt.
